SUMMARY:Introductory Awareness to the WHS Act and WHS Mines Regulations
DESCRIPTION:A half day course (4 hours) focusing on the changes between the old regulations and the new regulations for plant registration\, mine management systems\, and mine site management structure. \nIf you own Registerable Plant\, it is imperative to understand your registration requirements for existing plant plus the implementation of a Mine Safety Management System. The aim of our industry leading training course is to give you a fundamental understanding of regulatory changes from the MSIR 1995 to the WHS Mines Regulations 2022 and how this may effect the management structure\, WHS duties\, Hazard or risk mitigation and the management of registerable plant (plant registration) on a mine site moving forward into the future. \nCourse Times: 8:00am – 12:00pm \nCost: $450 per person (includes refreshments) \nOrganisations can also book site-specific training at their location. \n➜ For site based training\, please get in touch here. \nKey modules\n\nAn overview of the WHS Act 2020 including definitions and key terms.\nThe introduction of industrial manslaughter laws.\nThe transitional arrangements for plant (item) registration.\nKey terms and changes to the WHS Mines Regulations 2022.\nUnderstanding the term “Classified Plant” has been replaced with “Registerable Plant”\nSchedule 5 Items of plant to be registered.\nThe transitional arrangements for plant (item) registration.\nSection 5.2 Items of Plant to be Registered.\nChanges to the Mine Management Structure\, Mine Operators\, Senior Site Executives and Statutory Supervisors.\nThe implementation (if required)\, maintenance\, review\, audit\, and continuous improvement of the Mine Safety Management System.\nThere are no section 44 appointed person requirements in the new regs.\n\n➜ Download our Training Course Brochure \nWho is it for?\nOur new course was primarily developed for owners & managers of registerable plant\, mine site managers\, WHS personnel & managers of mine site contractors\, but it’s beneficial for anyone employed in the mining industry. \n➜ This course is particularly suitable for people who already have the basic knowledge about “Registerable Plant” or people who have previously completed our “Classified Plant Awareness Training” and want to learn about the new WHS laws & regulations (in effect since March 2022). \n➜ If you’re not familiar with “Registerable Plant” yet\, we recommend attending our 2-Day Introduction to Registerable Plant Training Course covering all the basics + the latest WHS updates. \n
